Global Theme Issue on Poverty and Human Development
CMJ
invites submission of articles for the thematic issue on Poverty and Human development, planned for October 2007. Answering the call of the Council of Science Editors, the CMJ plans to publish articles on this important theme to raise awareness, stimulate interest, and encourage research into poverty and human development. Examples of topics of interest: status and trends of poverty indicators; disparities between urban and rural populations; inequalities of people with differing levels of income; interrelationships of income, health, and development; monitoring progress in meeting international goals.
Original research articles and systematic reviews will have the highest priority, but other types of articles are also welcome. The deadline for the submission of articles is May 1, 2007. For further information contact Dr Ana Ivaniš, Theme Issue Editor.

As announced in the editorial “Double life of Medical Journals: Dr Paper and Mr Web“ the Croatian Medical Journal introduces an on-line manuscript submission and peer review system, in order to better serve the authors and speed up the review and publishing process. From now on, all manuscripts should be submitted online (link). Submissions in paper form will not be accepted.
